JANUARY 2008 – DTS SUPERINTENDENT UPDATE

 

Dear DTS Community,

 

Welcome back and Happy 2008!

 

On December 18, 2007, the Delaware Township School District hosted the on site visit portion of the new state monitoring process called New Jersey Quality Single Accountability Continuum (NJQSAC).

 

As Superintendent, I am proud to announce that the New Jersey site visitors commended our school district in all areas of the comprehensive review and confirmed the District Performance Reviews (DPRs) that were submitted to the state.  The five areas recognized were Governance, Operations, Instruction and Program, Personnel, and Fiscal Management.

 

I look forward to receiving specific feedback from the state regarding the QSAC monitoring process and I will share any updates with our community as the district receives formal notification.

 

Public Budget Input Requested

 

 

During our next three board meetings – January 22, February 26, and March 18, 2008 at 7:00 pm, we will be seeking public input regarding our 2008-09 budget process.  Mr. Gary Johnston, our Business Administrator, will be presenting a preliminary budget schedule and he will be facilitating a public input session specifically in the areas of implementing our 3 year state approved technology plan and expanding sharing services with the Hunterdon Central Regional High School transportation department.  Currently, we share 3 of our nine bus routes with HCRHS.  In addition, the Board of Education and administration are continuing to explore sharing services with Stockton School to assist our district in reducing administrative costs.

 

I continue to look forward to working with our Board of Education, administration, community, faculty and students to make DTS a superior school district where all students reach their maximum potential.
