Band Requirements Grade 4
Practice Requirements- Students in the first year of
learning a musical instrument need to develop good practice habits and a routine
that will enable them to maximize the time spent practicing at home. Mr. Komarek
requires that each student practices four times per week,20 minutes each day,
for a total of 80 minutes per week.This time should be spread throughout the
week for proper development of muscle coordination and learning/retention of
musical concepts. A practice record chart is located on the inside front cover
of the lesson book. Each student is required to fill in the time practiced and
have one parent or guardian initial the line to the right of the chart.
Attendance Requirements- Each student has been assigned a group number or
letter that corresponds to a chart that has been issued to each student and
their teachers that indicates the time of the lesson each week. Students need to
attend all lessons unless taking a test or there is a special event taking place
in class (presentation, book report, etc.).
