The Prallsville Mills
Stockton, New Jersey

     The Prallsville Mills were built at around 1794 by John Prall.  It was used by farmers to mill lumber, linseed oil, and flour.

 The Grist Mill

         This mill has four stories and it was built in 1877 on a site of a former mill.  The grind stone is located on the first floor.

 The Linseed Oil Mill

The linseed oil was ground from flax and used in paint.  This mill went out of use in 1850.

 The Saw Mill

The saw mill lumber was very important to the growth of Hunterdon County.

 The Bridge

There used to be a covered railroad bridge, however it caught fire in 1874, and burnt down the Grist Mill.
