Ms. Wheatley was recently recognized by the Veterans of Delaware Township and Hunterdon County. Through her efforts, students in her eighth grade social studies classes interviewed and video taped the veterans living in our community. The students and many of the veterans went on a field trip to the U.S. New Jersey battleship. Through many phone calls and face to face encounters, DTS students truly learned what it was like to be in the armed forces during wartimes. |

Ms. Wheatley was further honored by the state VFW on March 2nd, 2002 with the New Jersey Teacher Citizenship Award for grades six through eight. She has also been nominated for the national award. Delaware Township is very proud of the accomplishments of this fine teacher. |
